New Show - The Checkerboard Guy

Saturday, September 30 - 2 p.m.
Family Matinee – Comic Daredevil
Get ready to gaze in amazement, gasp in awe, and giggle until your sides hurt!
David Aiken, aka ‘The Checkerboard Guy’, is an outdoor Fringe and Street Performers Festival favourite. Performing around the world for over two decades, this ‘comic daredevil’ manipulates everything from flaming torches and thirteenth-century battle-axes to stinky shoes, all while balancing on top of unicycles, stilts, tight-ropes or unsupported eight-foot tall aluminum ladders. Like a live-action Simpsons episode, Checkerboard Guy’s show will appeal to children of all ages!

Popular kids entertainers cancel their show

Children’s entertainers Sharon & Bram have cancelled their September 30th performances at Horizon Stage for ‘personal’ reasons. Also canceling shows in two nearby communities, the artists had scheduling conflicts.
Horizon Stage has been working hard to fill the gap that has been left in their 4 show Family Matinee Series. Hopes of Fred Penner have fallen through as he is now booked at another Edmonton area theatre.
